Dr. Jeffrey Nickas

As a member of our team for more than a decade, Dr. Nickas is a dentist near DeKalb who enjoys changing the lives of those who desire better oral and overall health. With a mother who was a nurse and an interest in the profession, he grew up enjoying the arts and science.

He discovered dentistry met the disciplines he enjoyed most, so he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since then, he has pursued continuing education courses in geriatric dentistry, implant placement, oral sleep apnea appliances, TMJ, and more.

Dr. Nickas is certified in clear braces and Lumineers, and he is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside the office, he and his fiancée, Corey, have a 3,000-pound koi pond and enjoy traveling to exotic locations. He is an animal lover who also enjoys fishing, mountain biking, and going to live music concerts.

Dr. Daniel Brady

Dentistry allows Dr. Brady to form lasting relationships with his patients. Although his original plan was to become a pharmacist, he chose dentistry after meeting and spending time with a retiring dentist. Realizing how well he and the dental field fit together, enrolled at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery.

He has completed multiple continuing education courses on everything from cosmetic dentistry to orthodontics to dental implants.

When he’s not busy in the office, he’s with his wife, Lorraine, and their three daughters. He also has three grandchildren and three dogs. He enjoys fishing and cheering on his favorite sports teams – the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks.

Dr. Rami Ghandour

With over five years of experience as an associate dentist near DeKalb, Dr. Ghandour focuses on providing valuable patient education and personalizing treatments. His devotion to helping patients remain comfortable while in the dentist’s office is one of the many reasons so many individuals appreciate his approach.

This dedication to helping others started as a sophomore in college when he discovered his passion for dentistry. He shadowed many professionals throughout the medical field but realized dentistry provided the connection he wanted.

Earning his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, he enrolled at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He received additional training in dental implants, clear aligners, conscious sedation, endodontics, restorative treatment, extractions, bone grafting, removable prosthodontics, and TMJ pain management.

Outside the office, you’ll find him with his wife. Originally from France, he speaks four languages and enjoys reading, running, tennis, swimming, lifting, cooking, and cars.

Dr. Cavero

Inspired by her father, an orthodontist, Dr. Cavero knew dentistry was her calling because of her desire to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. With over two decades of experience, she began her journey at Loyola University before graduating from the Northwestern University Dental School. Since then, she has continued to pursue advanced training and learning opportunities in restorative dentistry, endodontics, extractions, orthodontics, and dental implants.

She’s actively involved in the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society.

When she’s not in the office, she’s often with family and friends and stays active through hiking, tennis, and travel.

Dr. Bruce Abdullah

Dr. Abduallah is a periodontist near DeKalb who has decades of experience. As our practice’s in-house implantologist and periodontal expert, he enjoys working with his hands and solving various problems.

After earning his dental doctorate at the Loyola University School of Dentistry, he completed a master and specialty certificate in periodontology from Tufts University. He is now board-certified and a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology.

He has taught in the department of postgraduate periodontology at the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and is a member of multiple professional organizations.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his two daughters in their various sports.

Dr. Sam Allen

As an orthodontist near DeKalb, Dr. Allen provides patients with renewed self-esteem, thanks to the superior service and care he delivers. With a goal of becoming an orthodontist while in seventh grade, he discovered the life-changing transformation that braces provided. Positively impacting his life in many ways, he decided he wanted to help others feel the same way.

After earning his dental degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and graduating first in his class, he earned his certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree in dentistry at VCU.

Once he completed his residency in Colorado, he moved to the Chicago area and is pleased to be a part of the Grand Dental Group. Dr. Allen stays abreast of the latest advancements and technologies in dentistry and orthodontics. He's actively involved in the Illinois Society of Orthodontists and the American Academy of Orthodontists.

Outside the office, you’ll find him with his mutt, Nugget, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He also enjoys traveling and playing tennis.
